Haertling designed this desk in 1954, in between semesters of
teaching at University of Colorado, for his own home. It has a
truly sculptural form made possible by numerous layers of laminated
wood. The writing surface is cantilevered off of a wide support
under the drawers. At the far end of the cantilever is a pipe
stand.
