Rink Office

The Rink building is a renovated roller skating rink in downtown Boulder. Haertling generally resisted doing renovations, but made an exception in this case due to the curved roof line of the original structure. It houses offices and indoor parking in the back. Haertling had his office and the Haertling Art Gallery on the lower left side of the building during the 1970's. The curved white stucco surfaces under the windows of the second floor on the front of the building create an effective hovering effect, a Haertling trademark, i.e. to make large structural masses appear light, or hovering above lower structures, or the ground.
